Powerfully short-lived Friends knockoff from the early days of the Fox network. Six well-scrubbed teens enjoy sitcom-style trials and tribulations at their beloved New Jersey beach house. Come to think if it, this abbreviated series actually predates Friends by one full season, only Down the Shore lacks that show’s humor, wit, and warmth. Leering advances and obnoxious ‘party’ sensibilities were the order of the day…up until the show’s cancellation, that is. Star Anna Gunn looked pretty sweet in a bikini, so the experience isn’t a total loss.
