Born Aamito Stacie Lagum in the East African country country of Uganda, this lissom lady started modeling at sixteen for Gloria Wavamunno’s GW Collection during Ugandan Fashion Week. She would eventually win the very first season of Africa’s Next Top Model, the prize of which was a 1-year modeling contract with DNA Model Management, product endorsement deals with P&G, Etisalat, Snapp and Verve International, a 1-year contract as an ambassador for South African Tourism and a cash prize of $50,000 USD. Not to shabby, right? This would, of course, lead to a number of different modeling gigs, and Aamito eventually earned the distinction of being the first model of color to open Balenciaga in Paris under Alexander Wang. She made both her acting and nude debut in the 2022 film Three Thousand Years Of Longing as the Queen of Sheba, opposite Idris Elba.
