A neurotic's sweetheart, a nerd's valentine, Carrie Snodgress started her acting career on Chicago stages before making her debut in the TV drama The Whole World is Watching (1969). She followed that with a cameo as one of the Commune Hippies in Easy Rider (1969) and landed her first semi-leading role in the TV movie Silent Night, Lonely Night (1969) opposite Lloyd Bridges. But it wasn't until she took the lead in Diary of a Mad Housewife (1970), in which she played a chick bent on adultery due to her overbearing husband's behavior, that the world really started watching. Carrie scored an Academy Award nomination for her honest, comic, and skinful performance. She showed off her big-nippled little boobies and a totally adorable and perfectly squeeze-friendly tush. She quit the business in the '70s for the hippie life before returning to the silver screen in Brian De Palma's psychic thriller The Fury (1978). Carrie also got in touch with her bad side as the villainous Joan Freeman in the Charles Bronson Cannon classic Murphy's Law (1986), where she gave us some downblouse peeks as she drowns a dude in a tub! Since then she's remained active, if not as renowned as in her heyday. Carrie appeared in the Mr. Skin favorite Wild Things (1998), and though she didn't get nude or involve herself in any of the film's famed lesbianic lick-a-thons, Neve Cambell and Denise Richards did. Carrie hopefully learned something from her young thespian co-stars. Alas, the song of this ex-wife of rock legend Neil Young ended on a sad note in April 2004, when Carrie died too young, at age fifty-seven.
