The late Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith is the definitive '70s drive-in starlet, an ethereal nymph who brought inimitable star power and A-plus class to numerous B-movie classics. A drummer who at one point was in a band with Joan Jett, the waify blonde's runaway success of a film career skyrocketed when a bit part in the 1971 biopic Evel Knievel led to a starring role in the prohibition era vampire flick, Lemora (1973). Due to her frequency at the famed West Hollywood musician hangout, Cheryl changed her name to "Rainbeaux Smith" over the course of appearing in more than twenty-five motion pictures, before seemingly disappearing from the limelight in the early eighties. Sadly, the reason for Cheryl's absence was an extended battle with drug addiction that led her to destitution, jail and, ultimately, contributed to her tragic death in 2002. Fortunately, Rainbeaux will shine forever through her skintastic legacy. Starting with 1974's The Swinging Cheerleaders where Cheryl shows off her double rainbows changing her shirt in front of a few friends, and continuing on through such mammariffic milestones as the women in prison classic Caged Heat (1974) where she shows all three B's including a very seventies bush, Cheryl was never afraid to show the honeypot at the end of her rainbow on the big screen. In the 1975 send-up Video Vixens, Rainbeaux sensationally displayed her comedic talents (along with her entire body) as the Twinkle Twat Girl, hawking an unabashed feminine hygiene spray. Cheryl continued her cheerleader work in Revenge of the Cheerleaders (1975), and The Pom Pom Girls (1976), before moving to horror in Massacre at Central High (1976). Cheryl's knockout knockers introduced themselves to former heavyweight boxing legend Ken Norton in the Mandingo (1975) sequel Drum (1976), when she seduces a different slave and "Black Hercules" walks in and stops it. Appearing in the musical comedy Cinderella (1977), we get to see Cheryl use her musical background to do some singing, showing her rack and just hiding her slip-in-her, with her legs propped up on the side of a bathtub. We hate to say she looks like the hottest, but dirtiest and poorest girl we've ever seen buy hey, if the shoe fits...Her last nude appearance came in Parasite (1982) best known for being Demi Moore's film debut and for a crimped hair Cheryl showing her mams while all tied up. When Kermit the Frog said rainbows have nothing to hide, he wasn't lying! Unfortunately, off screen a drug addiction was the parasite that drained Cheryl of her unique ethereal qualities. Between music, comedy and her acting roles, there was nothing this multitalented knockout couldn't do, except kick the drug addiction that was ultimately her undoing. As Cheryl Smith knew better than most, life isn't all sunshine and rainbows, but like the colorful natural phenomenon, her film work made our lives a bit more beautiful, if only for a fleeting moment.
