Well, she's French, born and raised in Paris after all. Her father is Edward Goldsmith, a well-known and highly respected ecologist, and magazine publisher. Growing up in a prominent family meant she ran in some pretty exclusive circles. In 1982 she married Carlo Puri Negri, the heir to the vast Pirelli tire/auto fortune. Their relationship only lasted a few years. In 1990 she married British writer Mark Shand who is the brother of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall (Charles, Prince of Wales’s wife).
