Born all the way back in 1914 in Pesaro, Marche, Italy, Elsa De Giorgi had a long and prosperous acting career throughout the golden ages of cinema. Her first role was for the Italian film T’amero sempre (1933), and she stayed active on screen until the late 40s, where she took a long hiatus until the early 60s. Since she lived through the years of fascism, she wound up being the perfect part for Passolini’s final film, Salo (1975), which focused on the subject. In the movie, she plays an elderly nymphomaniac who is in line with the ultra-evil fascists, and in one scene,she  has a body double who bares her butt while she illustrates with a story. In addition to this Elsa also wrote, directed, and acted in her own movie, Sangue + fango = Logos pasionne (1975). In the 50s, during her acting hiatus, she also was engaged in an affair with writer Italo Calvino.
