Dark-haired Spanish actress Emma Cohen starred in over 60 feature films, over half of them in ‘70s alone. While she never left her native Spain, there are a few titles Emma starred in that American audiences may be familiar with, thanks to multi-country collabs and the magic of international imports. She played a vampire woman in Jesús Franco’s Count Dracula (1970), starring Christopher Lee as Dracula; starred as Virginie in the Legend of Frenchie King (1971) with Brigitte Bardot; and played Sophie in The Woman in Red Boots (1974) with Catherine Deneuve. You can see her bare breasts for the first time as Paula in the movie Cannibal Man(1972)—and they’re pretty spectacular, with a nice bit of heft and puffy nipples. Emma went topless again as Elvire in Horror Rises from the Tomb (1973); Alicia in El apolítico (1977), aka The Apolitical Man; and as Mayte Villalba in Solos en la madrugada (1978), aka Alone in the Dark; but saved bottomless nudity for Cuentos eróticos (1980), aka Erotic Stories—equally as spectacular. In addition to her prolific big-screen career, Emma also appeared on the little screen in several big television projects. She played Julia Echevarría in Tres eran tres, aka Three Were Three, from 1972-1973; Mercedes in Novela from 1969-1974, Manuela in El Pícaro, aka The Rogue from 1974-1975—which, by the way, she also wrote, credited under the name Emmanuela Beltran (her birth name); Sole in Gatos en el tejado, aka Cats on the Roof, in 1988; and Escarlata in No sé bailar, I don’t know how to dance, in 1992. Emma passed away in July 2016 of cancer, at the age of 69.
