This former Playboy Bunny began her career in respected Hollywood films like For Love of Ivy (1968), but Gloria Hendry soon moved on to some of the best roles written for women in blaxploitation. Gloria's gazongas helped turn Black Caesar (1972) into a genre-spawning classic, and the film's success led to her becoming a brazenly bikinied Bond girl in Live and Let Die (1973). Gloria then discovered that the only decent roles for black women were still offered in grindhouse hits such as Slaughter's Big Rip-Off (1973) and Hell Up in Harlem (1973). Sexy epics like Savage Sisters (1974) helped establish Gloria as both a fine actress and a foxy mama. She only managed a few TV roles between 1978 and Doin' Time on Planet Earth in 1988, but now Gloria's a respected character actress who, sadly, has put public nudity behind her.
