The gorgeous Gunnel Lindblom was a Swedish minx who absolutely dominated the Scandinavian acting scene in the '50s, '60s, and '70s. Her first features were of the hard-to-pronounce variety: Kärlek (AKA Love) (1952), Flickan i regnet (AKA The Girl in the Rain) (1955), Krut och kärlek (AKA Gunpowder And Love) (1956), and Sången om den eldröda blomman (AKA Song of the Scarlet Flower) (1956). She then hit the big time with roles in the Ingmar Bergman classics The Seventh Seal (1957), Wild Strawberries (1957), The Virgin Spring (1960), and Winter Light (1963). Bergman also nudged her career into the direction of, well, directing. She directed the 1977 film Paradistorg (AKA Paradise Place) to rave reviews. Before directing, she popped her nudity cherry in another Bergman flick, 1963's The Silence, in which topless Gunnel mashes her breast against the bed when she lies down on her stomach, providing us with a great sideboob shot. Gunnel also bares her bountiful bunnels in a quick scene that Mr. Skin has slowed down for your pleasure. We will not be silent about seeing her breasts and butt in these glorious black-and-white scenes--after all, they concurred with Hollywood's Dark Age of skinlessness. Only in Sweden, y'all! From there, luscious Lindblom acted in such films as Scenes from a Marriage (1974), Behind the Shutters (1984), and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009). She also directed a few other flicks, Sally and Freedom (1981) among them. This screen legend passed away in 2021 at age 89. We love Gunnel for what she did to our love gun.
