Jana McKinnon comes our way out of the land of castles and steep peaks, Austria. Born in 1999 in Kerneuburg, AT, she got her start in the film business when she was just a youngin', with her role coming when she was still single digits in age in the 2008 Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film called Revanche. Then after a few years off, seemingly to do normal kid stuff like go to school, she bounced back into the acting game with a string of wildly successful movies like My Blind Heart (2013), Beautiful Girl (2015), Those Who Fall Have Wings (2015), and The Impossible Picture (2016). Still a teenager, she launched herself into leading lady status in her native Austria and became a household name around Vienna, including another starring turn in the critically acclaimed indie flick Wach (2018). She's going to storm the states soon enough though because she is now taking on another leading role in the Amazon prime series, We Children from Bahnhof Zoo. The series is a remake of a 1981 film Christiane F., about a teenage drug addict and prostitute in 1970s Berlin, whose transcribed memoirs became the basis for "Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo". Jana takes on the hard edged drama with badassery that paints a heartbreaking portrait of a young woman who fell in with the wrong group of friends and ended up on the streets in a rough time. Hopefully this gets Jana a little more recognition in the states because she is incredibly beautiful and looks pretty damn good in just some undies on screen in that series!
