The 1980s are known for big hair, dayglow colors, and extreme trends from preppy to punk. Yet classy actress Jenny Seagrove was able to maintain an air of dignity during the decadent decade. She launched her career in the Academy Award-winning short A Shocking Accident (1982) alongside Rupert Everett. In 1983, the beauty appeared in the Scottish dramedy Local Hero (1983) starring Burt Lancaster and the South Pacific swashbuckler Nate and Hayes opposite Tommy Lee Jones. By 1985, Jenny extended her elegant presence to the small screen with leading roles in the miniseries A Woman of Substance and Hold the Dream. After giving a titillating turn in the musical A Chorus of Disapproval (1989), the ’80s ended and all bets on being refined were off. The same goes for Jenny’s clothes in The Guardian (1990). Even though director William Friedkin’s chiller diller was dismissed as a dud, Jen’s many nude scenes ensured it raised some thumbs (among other things) up.
