Being Miss USA is a lot like being a stewardess — it used to be a lot more glamorous. Still, back in 1972 a farm-fresh Nebraska blonde like Lindsay Bloom could parlay her Miss USA crown, along with her pageant-winning face, showgirl rack, and sense of adventure, into a shot at bright-light stardom. Hailing from Omaha, Lindsay got her start in the pageant world when she was seventeen, winning the titles of Miss Omaha in 1968 and Miss Utah in 1969. Lindsay leapt from the swimsuit competition to The Dean Martin Show in 1972, where she enlivened the variety series as one of Dean's darling decolletage-baring Ding-a-Ling Sisters. From this humble beginning, Bloom blossomed into a full-on B-level actress, which landed her roles on Dallas (1982) and The Return of Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer (1986). The beauty queen's most indelible mark was left upon the breast epics like the sexploitation thriller Cover Girl Models (1975) and the college comedy H.O.T.S. (1979), both of which feature Lindsay's bare rack in all its girl-next-door-with-a-wild-streak glory. Some of Lindsay's other credits include The Happy Hooker Goes Hollywood (1980), The Dukes of Hazzard (1981), Lone Star Bar & Grill (1983), More Than Murder (1984), Terror at London Bridge (1985), and Mike Hammer: Murder Takes All (1989). She took a long break and came back to the big screen for Charlie's Christmas Wish in 2020. Of course, you won't be finding any skin in that one.
