In honor of Marine Jahan, we must paraphrase the idiom “behind every great man is a great woman” with “behind a reel dancer is a real dancer doing great work.” In other words, it’s doubtful the teen hit Save the Last Dance (2001) would have debuted at number 1 if Chryssie Whitehead wasn’t really cutting a rug for Julia Stiles. Natalie Portman may not have won the Oscar for Black Swan (2010) without the fancy footwork of dance double Sarah Lane. And Flashdance (1983) star Jennifer Beals would never have become an overnight skinsation if it weren’t for the uncredited moves of Ms. Jahan! Born in Versailles, the flexible Frenchie became known in the States when producers were busted for trying to imply Marine wasn’t the be-thonged beauty strutting her stuff in the movie. Amazingly, she also doubled for Snoopy’s dance moves in the Peanuts TV special It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown (1984). Talk about giving a dog a bone! The pretty performer proceeded to be the featured half-time dancer during the “Flashdance... What a Feeling” number at Super Bowl XXI in 1987. Also that year, the busy babe played Madame St. Cyr in the Broadway production of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Yet these parts pale compared to her revealing role in Streets of Fire (1984). The action flick features Diane Lane, Amy Madigan, and Marine’s killer curves! Clad in just a G-string and a mesh top, the sexy stunner lets us peek at her naked peaks as she parades around.
