Hailing from San Francisco, California, Marla Sokoloff knew she'd be an actress from a young age. She headed to Los Angeles for high school, where she studied music and theater at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, but Marla was already earning acting credits in the budding teeny-bopper market. The young starlet appeared on Full House (1993), The Baby-Sitters Club (1995), and Freaky Friday (1995). She was even cast as Topanga on ABC's Boy Meets World (1993) and had even filmed a few scenes before Danielle Fishel took over. In her early career, Marla worked opposite the hottest of the li'l darlings -- the lovely Alicia Silverstone, in True Crime (1995). But she's best known for her role on the hit series The Practice (1998). "I love Lucy on The Practice," she says, "but I'm pretty uncomfortable with her short skirts and tight tops." It's surprise to discover that this dark mama hasn't been very generous in the skin department. Having been firmly entrenched in the "teen-comedy" genre, Marla reached in the role of a young lady fighting an embarrassing gastrointestinal malady in The Date (1997) before appearing in Whatever it Takes (2000), the modern, teen-angst telling of Cyrano DeBergerac. At least she got a little sexy in Maneater (2009), A Date with Darkness: The Trial and Capture of Andrew Luster (2003), and Desperate Housewives (2004), but her naughty bits were always covered by a bra or by her arms.
