Marlene Forte has an acting resume that reads like a list of primetime hits over the last two decades. Born in Havana, but raised in Hudson County in New Jersey, she studied at both Rutgers and Montclair State University. She kicked off her on-screen career as Alicia in The Bronx War (1991), and had her first gig on TV in 1996, playing Mrs. Flores in an episode of New York Undercover. Marlene took on recurring roles as Gloria in Crossing Jordan in 2001, Rosie Hernandez in House of Payne from 2008-2009, Captain Garcia in Caribe Road from 2011-2013, Kathy’s Grandma in The Secret Life of the American Teenager from 2012-2013, Carmen Ramos in the Dallas remake from 2012-2014, Celia Flores in Fear the Walking Dead in 2016, Ellen Gutierrez in The Fosters from 2015-2017, Alazne Ortega in Altered Carbon in 2018, Connie Sosa in Superstorefrom 2017-2021, and Carmen Deglado in Grey’s Anatomy in 2021.
