Before there were Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez in the infamously weird Gigli (2003), there were offscreen lovers Al Pacino and Marthe Keller in Bobby Deerfield (1977). This notorious bomb was panned as one of the most inept love stories ever told--and audiences even stayed away from the sight of Marthe's shapely muffins. Sadly, Deerfield marked the end of Marthe's busy American career. Already an international star, this Swiss Miss made her American debut wearing out Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man (1976), in which her casual nudity captured the essence of the liberated European woman--except that she shaved her armpits. Her skinful scene in this film consists of her boobage being on display after her man rolls off her thoroughly sexed body. She's an equally stunning femme fatale in Black Sunday (1977), playing a terrorist who escapes after her shower scene dazzles Israeli agents. Then came Deerfield, which meant her incredibly glamorous nude scene in Fedora (1978) barely got into theaters. More breasts to gawk at on this one as Marthe floats in a movie lagoon set, nips out, before they're covered by a stage hand with algae. Why would someone do such a thing!? A few years later we got The Formula (1980), which was another bomb. After this Marthe concentrated on her respected screen career in Europe. Americans barely got to see her luscious nakedness in Femmes de personne (1984), but we can almost guarantee it was consummate bate bait.
