Maureen Mooney’s career was, if we were to describe it best, spotty. Although she managed a gig on the long-running hit soap opera All My Children in 1975, after a solitary season, she hit the bricks, presumably to pursue less-episodic endeavors. Unfortunately, her next gig wouldn’t come around until 1986 when she landed her only starring role in the thriller Hell High. However, it sat on the shelves until 1989 when it was finally released on pay-cable, so it comes as no surprise that it didn’t do all that much to revive Ms. Mooney’s career. The film’s appearance did manage to lead to a one-episode guest shot on the Burt Reynolds series B.L. Stryker in 1990. Since then, though, Maureen’s been “away from the game,” so to speak. What a shame... Of course, we always have her debut performance in 1971’s The French Connection to enjoy! Although Maureen’s part as “Bicycle Girl” went uncredited, the appearance didn’t go unnoticed around these parts, considering that she bared her full-Mooney for Gene Hackman during her brief tenure on screen. Not too shabby!
