Mews Small. Let’s just stop for a minute and appreciate that name, because it’s a really, really good name for an actress who isn’t even a porn star. It’s also appropriate because we only get small but admirable glances of the star’s titillating twosome in two of her on-screen performances. A Pasadena native, she made her debut at the age of 24 as a nun in the movie The Trouble With Angels (1966) with Rosalind Russell, then paused her acting career until 1973 when she turned 31. She did a round of primetime TV shows, then grabbed two important parts in 1975. First, she played Bertha in James Ivory’s The Wild Party (1975) with Raquel Welch, where she exchanged lip puckers with a female while giving us our first small glimpse of her perky pair. Next, she was cast as Candy in Milos Forman’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest (1975) with Jack Nicholson, where we spy her breasts on a boat. Elsewhere on the big screen, you can see her in Woody Allen’s Sleeper (1973) with Diane Keaton, The World’s Greatest Lover (1977) directed by and starring Gene Wilder, The Last of the Cowboys (1977) with Henry Fonda, Thank God It’s Friday (1978) with Donna Summer, Five Corners (1987) with Jodie Foster, and Man on the Moon (1999) with Jim Carrey. Also? You may have seen her campaign collateral in California, when she ran for State Assembly in 1996 and the House of Representatives 25th District in 2000. Mews didn’t win those, but she has won the admiration of Mr. Skin, and really, that’s a big deal.
