Stop the presses while Mr. Skin introduces Natalie Press. Sometimes credited at Nathalie (with a h), the British belle was born in London and nabbed a few UK TV roles before her first feature film, a tiny part as a female van pusher in The Gathering (2002) with Christina Ricci. A spot as Maria in the BBC TV movie Peter in Paradise (2003) brought her more attention, and she was cast in the lead role of Zoë in the short film Wasp, which won an Oscar for Best Short Film Live Action. Natalie’s next full-length film was a doozy, and one that caught Mr. Skin’s undivided attention. The actress nabbed the part of Mona in My Summer of Love (2004), a sweet romantic drama about exploration and feelings—with Emily Blunt. The sapphic love story (winner of nine awards and 20 nominations) involves small bikinis, medium breasts, and big stretches of naked skin. Freckled skin and fair hair, the 5’3” cutie has logged a slew of big flicks since then, including Chromophobia(2005) with Penélope Cruz and Ralph Fiennes, playing the role of Fiona; as Zina In Tranzit (2008) with Vera Farmiga and John Malkovich; Fifty Dead Men Walking (2008) with Ben Kingsley and Rose McGowan, playing Lara; and as the famous real-life person Emily Wilding Davison in Suffragette (2015) with Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter. She also appeared as April in both Red Road (2006) and Donkeys (2010), the first and second films in the Advanced Party trilogy, a challenge issued by Danish director Lars von Trier to three new directors to create films with the same group of characters. Red Road won the Jury Prize at Cannes, while Donkeys won Best Feature Film at the BAFTA Scotland Awards. Natalie herself won a nomination for a BAFTA TV award for Best Actress, thanks to her role as Paula Clennell in the mini-series Five Daughters (2010). Mr. Skin doesn’t want to press the issue, or put on a full-court press, but you would be hard-pressed to find a better Press—so don’t press your luck trying!
