No relation to the 12th President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Nehir developed a passion for acting in high school that continued to thrive while she studied at Marmara University, leading her to enroll in the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of Social Sciences Institute there after graduating from the Department of Business Administration. She becane a TV presenter in the early 2000s before landing her first part on the series Koçum Benim in 2002. She became a fixture of Turkish television thanks to continued hosting gigs and memorable roles on Yabanci Damat (2004-2007), Tatli Bela Fadime (2007-2008), Ask Bir Hayal (2009-2010), Reaksiyon (2014), and many more. Though she has also made a a few big screen appearances, such as in Okul (2004), Broken Angel (2008), Consequences (2014), and Hara (2022), Nehir didn’t cross our path until 2026, when she starred in the HBO Max series Mira: Life After Divorce. Nehir takes on the title role, playing a woman who’s world is turned upside down when her husband asks for a divorce out of the blue.
