That first flash occurred in Les Mots pour le dire (1983), where she played Marie Saint-Jean, when she was 37-years old. At that point, Nicole had already been acting for 17 years, had won a César (like an Oscar) for Best Supporting Actress for her part in the film Le Cavaleur (1979), and been nominated for Best Actress for Mon oncle d’Amérique.
