Before she became one of pop culture’s most recognizable sidekicks, Reneé O’Connor kicked off her acting career as a teen via her television debut on the Disney Channel’s The Mickey Mouse Club. Guest spots on the boob-tube’s ABC Afterschool Specials (1991) and NYPD Blue (1993) soon followed, as did the made-for-TV movie Hercules and the Lost Kingdom (1994). Reneé caught the eye of the project’s producers who then cast her as Gabrielle in the spinoff series Xena: Warrior Princess (1995-2001). And the rest, they say, is history. Make that, her-story! As Xena’s (Lucy Lawless) blonde BFF, Reneé’s scene-stealing part spurred an international fan base that includes websites dedicated to her character. No doubt, it has to do with the amount of ass she flashed. Whether wrestling with Xena, diving into a river, taking an outdoor shower or partaking in a kinky purification ceremony, the syndicated series managed to find a way to reveal Reneé’s rump! The program also played around with the relationship between the Warrior Princess and Gabrielle. In fact, the two ended up bathing together and sharing a kiss as writers beat around the bush (so to speak) as to whether these fighters were also lovers. In the process, we got an overhead glimpse of the pair’s pups! Since the fantasy adventure ended, Reneé starred in the sci-fi series Ark (2010) and has worked on independent films. She produces a Video Subscription Channel for her company ROC Pictures. Although her writing and directing talents take her behind-the-camera, we still long to see her behind on camera!
