From her first appearance on-screen, in the Spanish drama Belle (1973), we knew that we wanted Stephane Excoffier. But she proved elusive. Not that she didn’t work hard at making us hard in recurring roles on the TV series Le village englouti, a French drama where she played the character Suzanne. But it wasn’t until she appeared in the Netherlands production of De Wisselwachter (1986) about a woman stranded with a man who doesn’t speak her language, that our things started picking up. When you can’t communicate verbally with another, then sign language becomes the only connection you have, and she makes great use of this physical vocabulary by lifting her skirt and flashing her furry bits.
