Well known in her native England for her acting and her work on behalf of dyslexics (for which she became an O.B.E. in 1995), lovely Londoner Susan Hampshire has led a storied life. She once visited Albert Schweitzer in Africa for two weeks, and when she met the Prince of Wales, her cleavage caused His Highness to exclaim, "My father told me that if I ever met a lady in a dress like yours, I must look her straight in the eyes." It is very fortunate we commoners don’t have rules about where we can look at Susan, because she put her boobs and bush on prominent display during a full-frontal scene in the fantasy epic Malpertuis (1971), although there is a question of whether she used a body double or not (but as Mr. Skin always says, a boob is a boob, and these are pretty awesome whether they are actually hers or not). In addition to her many big-screen roles with such co-stars as Orson Welles, Ed Begley (the original), Gina Lollobbrigida, Albert Finney, and Jean Simmons, Susan was also a star on TV, and won three Primetime Emmy’s for Best Actress for her roles in BBC productions—as Becky Sharp in the mini-series Vanity Fair (1967); as Fleur Mont née Forsyte in the series The Forsyte Saga in 1967; and Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough in the mini-series The First Churchills(1969). In addition to her O.B.E., Susan also added a C.B.E. (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2018 Queen’s New Years Honours List for her services to drama and charity.
