A talented actress and a prominent ally, she's had roles as both cisgender and transgender women on major TV shows all while using her voice to improve trans rights across the world. While her screen debut in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit made her one of the first trans people to play a non-trans speaking role on primetime TV, Trace's breakout role was on Transparent, the trans-themed Amazon smash hit. She landed the part after a long career in the closet. In fact, it was Orange Is the New Black's Laverne Cox who inspired her to audition as a trans woman. Since then, Trace has scored many prominent roles. Audience members have scored as well because Trace has graced the screen with all her parts save the peen.
