Everybody was kung-fu fighting—including freckle-faced Vanessa Kai, a native New York resident who went to the famous LaGuardia High School of Music & Art, then graduated from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, with completed studies in sociobiology and psychology. She’s also been cast in a few bigger roles as her career progressed. You may remember her as Dr. Suzanne Izuka in the FOX primetime show New Amsterdam in 2018, or in her biggest role, as Pei-Ling Zhang in The CW’s Kung Fu series in 2021. You can also catch her as the Asian woman in the movie Death in Love (2008), her big-screen debut that stars Josh Lucas, Jacqueline Bisset, Lukas Haas, and Morena Baccarin. This dramatic romance movie is also Vanessa’s skinematic debut, and it’s quite the performance. The star gets batted around by Lucas, a lot, when they have several scenes of rough sex; not even her bare breasts are saved from several slaps against her tight nipples. It’s just too bad that she wasn’t doing her kung-fu fighting back then. Mr. Skin would have paid to see her giving a few high kicks to Joshy’s face.
