Life on the Ponderosa would have been a lot more skinteresting if sprightly British import Veronica Cartwright had joined the four Cartwright bozos and been allowed to put the "bone" in Bonanza. Born in Bristol, England, Veronica was a performing prodigy, making her big-screen debut when she was just eight years old in the World War II flick In Love and War (1958), although she made her very first onscreen appearance in TV's Leave It to Beaver (1959). Beaver is exactly what Veronica left it to when she bared all playing a porno chick in Inserts (1975), an ahead-of-its-time full-frontal story of head and orgies that broke ground that mainstream films have seldom dared take since. Aside from showing up in gratuitous material such as Alien (1979) and The Witches of Eastwick (1987), Cartwright spun revealing topless turns in My Man Adam (1986) and Valentino Returns (1988). Then there was her appearance as a burlesque dancer in the comedy Sparkler (1998). In nothing but a G-string and tassels, Veronica shook her moneymakers and sealed her place as one of film's sexiest stars. Now a mature woman, Veronica is still leaving audiences slack-jawed when they encounter her beauty onscreen. Some of her more recent credits include The Town That Dreaded Sundown (2014), Mommy, I Didn't Do It (2017), Supernatural (2018), Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2019), General Hospital (2019), and Defrost: The Virtual Series (2019).
