She was born Yoshira Escárrega Godinez in Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico, where she studied theatre at the Municipal Arts Center before moving to Mexico City to attend the National School of Arts. After receiving her BA, Yoshira enrolled in a workshop with director Natalia Beristáin, who invited her to audition for the crime drama series Here on Earth (aka Aquí en la Tierra) in 2018. That ended up being Yoshira’s first major role, and while working there she also nabbed another breakthrough role - Tamara Sánchez on the teen thriller series Dani Who? In 2021, Yoshira made her feature film debut in Drunken Birds and has since been on the big screen in Mujeres del Alba (2022), The Head of Joaquín Murrieta (2023), and Pedro Páramo (2024). She also continued working in television with recurring roles in Toda la sangre (2022) and Las invisibles (2023), but it would be the 2024 Netflix series The Secret of the River where Yoshira would finally deliver the skin fans had been waiting for. In the fifth episode, her headlamps can be seen through a window while she and Diego Calva get busy, and then they come out again in Episode Eight during another slow, sultry sex scene.
