The horror romance A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014) is set in the fictional Iranian ghost town of Bad City, a post-apocalyptic locale that is seeped in death and loneliness. There’s Arash (Arash Marandi), a despicable gardener, whose father, Hossein (Marshall Manesh) is a smacked out junkie and gambler who is indebted to a pimp, Saeed (Dominic Rains). To wipe out dad’s debt, Arash gives up his chrome-covered car. Along the way, there’s The Girl (Sheila Vand), dressed in a black cloak, prowling around the city. You see The Girl is a shape-shifting vampire, feeding on her helpless victims. Shot in black and white, you’ll be shooting a lot of off-white liquid when you see Sheila Vand’s little pair as she soaks in a bathtub. Oh, Sheila!
