A Journal for Jordan (2021) is a film by actor-turned-director Denzel Washington about a young man in the military who starts writing a journal for his son while he is fighting abroad in Iraq. Charles Monroe King played by Michael B. Jordan is a 1st Sargeant in the army and he is fighting in Baghdad when he begins his journal to tell his son life lessons that he is not around to talk about. Sadly, he gets killed in Bagdad, so this journal winds up being the only thing that Jordan has to refer to as he grows up without his father and tries to become a decent human being.
