Juanjo Puigcorbé plays ace detective Pepe Carvalho in Alla ricerca di Sherazade (1999), a feature-length entry in a popular Italian detective series. When the irresistible young model-actress Scherezade (Manuela Arcuri) disappears from her home in Italy, the girl’s distraught mother begs Carvalho to take the case. So begins this globetrotting chase, in which Carvalho dodges gangsters’ bullets in the Balkans when he’s not scoping nude sunbathers in his Mediterranean hometown. That said, he’d do too well to find the alluring Arcuri--the statuesque beauty shows she’s happy to spread the love around in a trio of amorous scenes.
