Based on a British series from 2021 called Angela Black, this Spanish version stars Verónica Sánchez as the title character, a once-successful architect that’s now a stay-at-home mom to two daughters. That means the family relies financially on Angela’s narcissistic husband Gonzalo (Daniel Grao), and he uses this power to manipulate and psychologically torture his wife, turning their exquisite home into a prison. But everything changes with the surprise arrival of Edu (Jaime Zatarain), who claims to have attended high school with Angela back in the day. His presence stirs something in Angela, but the truth is that his connection lies with Gonzalo, so is it really a budding romance or a chilling set up? The plot may seem set up for nudity, but our only glimpse of skin is in the premiere when Verónica gets ready to take a shower and we catch the sight of some sideboob between her taking her bra off and wrapping up in a towel. Now that’s psychological torture!
