The title Arizona Heat (1988) may seem unoriginal. Of course it’s hot in Arizona. But there’s more to this cop drama than a by-the-numbers story you’d expect from its generic title. It’s simple to begin with, in that there are two cops trying to collar a serial killer. Seen that before. But one of the cops, Bing Crosby’s granddaughter Denise Crosby, is a lesbian. Now that’s different in a sexy way. Even better, the butch blonde shows off her healthy lungs in a shower with a man. She doesn’t look too happy, but viewers will be.
