Nude: Bienvenido-Welcome 1995 Nude Scenes

A singularly offbeat dose of black comedy, the Mexican film Bienvenido-Welcome (1994) lampoons the national film industry while simultaneously tackling the deadly serious issue of AIDS among married couples. In a clever meta-filmic turn, director Gabriel Retes stars as a filmmaker attempting (and failing badly) to make a sobering English-language film about the threat of AIDS. Bumbling the script and falling flat in his attempt to achieve his lofty ambitions on a shoestring budget, the artist opens himself up to gentle mockery in a film that mixes farce and social commentary. Because so much of Bienvenido-Welcome takes place on movie-within-a-movie bedroom sets, there’s plenty of good lovin’ to go around. Lourdes Elizarrarás and Desiree Rios spread the gospel of safe sex in mesmerizing fashion.
