A Dutch strumpet tries to escape the seedy confines of Amsterdam’s red-light district in the intrigue-fueled romance Blonde Dolly (1987). Hilde Van Mieghem stars as the eponymous Dolly, a pursed-lipped prostitute who falls hard for a museum director (Peter Tuinman) who’s seemingly out of her league. When Dolly pushes to insert herself into the purchase of a fake Vermeer painting, she realizes her one shot at leaving behind the hardscrabble life of the flesh trade. Dutch Masters aside, Mieghem’s undeniably pretty as a picture as she strips for the horny curator who’s more than willing to let her show off her masterpieces.
