Pinky (Sam Riley), a razor- wielding, crocodile-smiled crook, only cares about one thing, and that’s rising to the top of the criminal class in 1960s Brighton, England. So when Rose (Andrea Riseborough), a naïve young waitress, witnesses something she shouldn’t out on the pier one day, Pinky swoops in and marries the girl in order to buy her silence. While Rose is convinced that Pinky really loves her, his fellow gangsters aren’t so sure, setting off a desperate cycle of violence from the increasingly unhinged Pinky.
