In Children of a Lesser God (1986), William Hurt plays a speech teacher at a school for the deaf who falls for Marlee Matlin, a student who refuses to leave the school and face the uncertainty and cruelty of the outside world. So, basically, this is your teacher/student affair plot just placed in a unique setting. Sure, she refuses to read lips, preferring sign language as it reinforces her isolation, but really what we’re drawn to here is the illicit relationship and its movement towards the two getting down and dirty. It helps that Marlee is so hot, and it helps even more that she skinny dips in this movie, twice! We never see nipples, but her ass underwear is our kind of sea life.
