The heroine of the screwball Mexican comedy Esmerelda Comes by Night (1997) is so forthcoming with her nuptials that she makes Elizabeth Taylor look timid. Maria Rojo stars as the titular Esmerelda, a feisty lover who’s about to tie the knot for a sixth time when the police show up at her door to arrest her. It turns out one of her jilted former husbands has had her framed, requiring Esmerelda to describe her epic marital history as an alibi. The best of these randy flashbacks involves Rojo flashing breasts that belie the actress’s age.
