Fanfan is the ultimate ladies' man in Fanfan la tulipe (2003), a remake of the 1952 French classic. His fortunes turn, however, when he is tricked by the lovely Adeline, played by Penélope Cruz, into joining Louis XV's army. She promises him the hand of one of the king's daughters, but there will be hell to pay for it.
