Seventeen years after The Guns of Navarone (1961), Hollywood decided to revisit WWII with Robert Shaw replacing Gregory Peck as Major Keith Mallory (and Harrison Ford as a typically brash Yank commander). Force 10 from Navarone (1978) is a fairly complicated tale of a mission to blow up a bridge while a German spy lurks amidst the good guys. Fortunately, Barbara Bach’s bathing boobies keep us straight . . . that is, keep us straight about just what kind of freedoms are worth fighting for.
