Love and yodeling in an Alpine village play twin roles in the fanciful German farce Helden in Tirol (1998). When the peaceful village ambience is threatened by ruthless ski-resort developers, an environmentally conscious local man comes to the rescue. Soon he is embroiled in a full-blown battle over the town’s soul. He must also compete with the mayor’s son for the affections of a simple but incredibly lovely country girl.
