How To Make a Monster (2001) is a made-for-TV sci-fi thriller, made for the Creature Features HBO series, and tells the tale of a gaming company’s release of a scary new POV game. It’s trashed in a focus group, which thinks the monster is lame, so the powers that be fire the creative team and hire a really scary replacement team. They have 30 days to fulfill their contract, with a $1 million bonus to the person who makes it most terrifying. The team’s smart idea is to hire the real Julie Strain, playing herself (literally, the role she was born to play), to wear a telemetry suit to digitize her, but the suit becomes a killer. Also killer is Julie, who goes topless and wears a G-string that passes as the telemetry suit. Now that’s scary!
