In the vain of Friends and Girls, writer and actress Rachel Sennott has brought the “20-somethings making their way in the big city” trend out west for her new HBO Max series - and that’s not all she’s brought. She plays Maia, a woman we meet on her twenty-seventh birthday as she’s having sex with her boyfriend Dylan (Josh Hutcherson). The room starts to shake, not from their thrusting so much as from one of those patented California earthquakes, but the real Earth-shattering moment is getting to see Rachel’s rump for the first time on screen. Not only that, Rachel’s rack makes its debut a few minutes later as she’s getting changed. Maia is trying to make it in L.A. as a talent manager but is stuck working as an assistant for Alyssa (Leighton Meester), meanwhile her former bestie Tallulah (Odessa A’zion) who she used to manage is living it up in New York, about to become the next big thing. Despite blocking her on social media, Tallulah shows up at Maia’s apartment and in her tornado-like fashion, talks her into going out for her birthday. The next day they get together with friends Alani (True Whitaker, daughter of Forest Whitaker really stretching it as a nepo baby) and Charlie (Jordan Firstman) and Alani takes Tallulah on a whirlwind tour of the city and they spend some time on the beach in skimpy bikinis. The last scene of the premiere, after Tallulah admits to being broke and the girls make up and decide to move in together, is Rachel in tight corseted dress getting her be-thonged butt cheeks lifted into the air by a stripper. We love L.A. too, especially when Rachel turns it from the West Coast to the Breast Coast!
