A police inspector decides to find out if he really is above the law in the '70s Euro-thriller Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto (Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion) (1970). "Il Dottore" (Gian Maria Volonté), head of the homicide bureau, kills his mistress, deliberately leaving evidence behind that implicates him in the crime. Why would he do such a thing? Is he suicidal? Does he feel guilty about what he did? Nah, he just wants to see if he can get away with it. Florinda Bolkan co-stars as the doomed mistress, but luckily before she gets whacked we get to see her wobblers talking on the phone in the tub.
