Based on two well-received memoirs, Julie Powell's Julie & Julia and Julia Child's My Life in France, Nora Ephron's Julie & Julia (2009) follows a young New York secretary as she attempts to cook each and every recipe in Julia Child's classic Mastering the Art of French Cooking in just one year. Amy Adams embodies the harried young kitchen novice, while Meryl Streep masterfully captures the essence of the iconic queen of cookery. There's no nudity in this light-hearted chick flick, though we do see Amy Adams in her panties, and both Julie and Julia balance time in the kitchen with plenty of sex. Plus, Meryl-as-Julia even utters the shocking line, "It's hotter than a stiff cock!"
