Based on the true events that inspired Michał Jędryka’s novel Przemilczana epidemia, this chilling Netflix drama series unfolds in 1970s Silesia, an industrial town where pediatrician Dr Jolanta Wadowska-Król (Joanna Kulig) has set up her practice. As days go by, the doctor starts to notice some disturbing patterns among her young patients, with all symptoms pointing to a massive lead-poisoning crisis. This prompts her to launch her own investigation, pitting her against government leaders that would rather save face than the lives of the public. Jakub Jankiewicz is one such teen that’s affected. He collapses by a pool while talking to a bikin-clad Julia Polaczek, who earlier had stripped off her swimsuit top to make out with him in the water. We only see her from the back though.
