Gérard Depardieu stars as ethically challenged nightlife impresario and former police inspector Antoine Carco in the heaven-on-earth comedy Les Anges gardiens (1995). He travels to Hong Kong to pick up the son of an associate who was rubbed out by Chinese gangsters and turns the kid over to a sweet-natured priest, Père Hervé Tarain (Christian Clavier). As they travel back to Paris, the men have endless comical falling outs, accompanied all the while by their guardian angels. Sumptuous supermodel Eva Herzigova provides potent evidence of divine skin-tervention when she parades about in tight-fitting, see-through lingerie.
