At the beginning of the smash series Life on Mars, police detective Sam Tyler is hot on the trail of the serial killer he’s been tracking when he’s struck by a car and mysteriously transported back to 1973, where he picks up his work with the NYPD under the direction of ball-busting lieutenant Harvey Keitel.
