My Best Friend’s Wife (2001) is a sobering comedy about guys who get it all and don’t want it. The stability of their New Jersey lives is like a prison, and eventually they start joking about wife swapping. That joke soon becomes less funny and more likely to become reality. But when it comes to skin in this provocative movie, only Juliette Alexander delivers on the perverse promise of the plot. And that’s in the first ten minutes of the film when the buddies watch her gyrate at a strip club. Sometimes less is just less.
