Though based on historical fact, this British romance series is all fantasy, as it delivers a “what if” scenario regarding the tragic title character, also known as the “Nine Days Queen.” In real life, Lady Jane Grey (Emily Bader) was bequeathed the throne by her cousin Edward VI (Jordan Peters) over his half-sister Mary (Kate O’Flynn), who upon his death from tuberculosis was the oldest remaining child of King Henry VIII. After Jane was proclaimed queen, Mary’s supporters rallied and she quickly deposed Jane and had her executed for treason, but in this new world, Edward survives, as does Lady Jane’s husband Lord Guildford Dudley (Edward Bluemel), and she takes matters into her own hands, fighting to live her life however he desires thanks to the addition of a supernatural species called Edians that shape-shift from human to animal form. Despite their arranged marriage, Jane and Guilford have a few steamy sex scenes, but the most we see of Emily is some salacious side boob. We also get some captivating cleavage from Kate as she rides Dominic Cooper’s Lord Seymour. If only we could see more of these ladies-in-‘bating!
